MoAMSS is pleased to invite you to join our organization. We hope you will become part of our future!

MoAMSS is a personal membership group of the Missouri Hospital Association (MHA). The MHA administers MoAMSS membership applications and renewals.

Active Member Dues: $25

You must be a person having responsibility in medical and/or health care provider staff activities and is interested in the overall aims and objectives of this organization.

Scholarship Information

Purpose
The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to MoAMSS members for the purpose of furthering professional growth and enhancing knowledge and competence in the medical staff services/credentialing field.

Guidelines
Scholarship(s) may be awarded to MoAMSS members who meet the defined criteria and are found to be of merit and selected by the MoAMSS Board. Awarded scholarship(s) will fund the education opportunity up to a maximum of $500. If accrued funds allow, more than one scholarship may be awarded per year, if recommended and approved by the MoAMSS Board. Only one application per member will be accepted in a calendar year. Awarded scholarships will be announced at the annual meeting and through e-mail communications.

Scholarship requests will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Merit of continuing education program
  • Level of benefit to be received by the MoAMSS member
  • Commitment of individual toward educational growth as a medical staff services/credentialing professional
  • Commitment toward the enhancement of professionalism in the field of medical staff services/credentialing and support for the goals of MoAMSS
  • Financial need

Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Current employment in the medical staff services/credentialing profession
  • Active member of MoAMSS for at least one year
  • Submit a completed application form, including personal statement, no later than October 1st of each year

Current MoAMSS officers (President, President-Elect, Secretary, Treasurer) are not eligible.

Funding
Will occur by:

  • Donations from individuals in support of the scholarship program
  • Annual donation by MoAMSS of at least $500 or 10% of conference profits, whichever is greater
  • Donations from MoAMSS local chapters wishing to contribute
  • Scholarship fund raising activities that may be held throughout the year, i.e. raffles

Eligible Activities
Awarded scholarship funds may be used for:

  • Registration fees at NAMSS or MoAMSS education conferences
  • Accommodations/travel expenses related to education conference
  • NAMSS Independent Study Program
  • Professional seminars related to medical staff services/credentialing, i.e. CRC Symposium
  • Educational materials, i.e. NAMSS resources, HCPro resources/continuing education

Professional membership dues and certification exam fees are not eligible.

Procedure
Applicants must submit a completed application on the current/official MoAMSS form. A 300 word, typewritten personal statement about past, present or planned contributions to the medical staff services/credentialing profession, with a brief review of how the participation in the planned educational activity will be of benefit to the applicant, both professionally and personally, must be included with the application. Completed applications must be submitted by October 1st for consideration of educational activities held during the following year.

Completed applications are to be mailed to the MoAMSS Immediate Past President. IMPORTANT – please mark the outside of the envelope with “MoAMSS Scholarship Application”:

The applications will be opened and blinded by an individual not associated with credentialing or MoAMSS. Blinded copies of the applications and personal statements will be forwarded to the MoAMSS Board for review to select the scholarship recipient(s) prior to the annual meeting in November.
